James didn’t know what he was to expect; you never could tell with Remus. Sirius was easy, you only needed to let him scream himself hoarse and be there when the walls inevitably came crashing down. Peter, too, was a piece of cake, probably the only one to ever willingly admit he was struggling. All you had to do was listen, offer a few words of advice and a prank to cheer him up again. Easy. James knew how to do those things, had done them more often than he cared to count. Remus, however, was a different story, less prone to weaving the same patterns again and again.
After a disastrous lesson, James tries to get through to his friend.
