Have you got any recommendations for stories that feature travelling, or really explore different countries and cultures to those usually found in HP fanfics?  Share them here!

Reasons for Recommending:

Title: The Wandering One
Author: Lululuna
Link(s): HPFF (M)
Era: Next Generation
Main Character(s): Victoire Weasley, OC
Main Pairing(s): Other Pairing, Teddy/Victoire
Genre(s): Fluff
Summary: Victoire - she's the girl with wanderlust. You'll find her wading through ruins and speaking with ghosts. She doesn't care much for the owls her family and ex-boyfriend pester her with as she ventures across Europe - she'd rather learn to say thank you in other languages or sip wine under the stars.

Reasons for Recommending: Jenna's a fantastic writer and this story is brilliant for anyone who loves reading about different cultures and countries and travel.  Victoire has all sorts of adventures on her travels and grows as a character too, and it's so much fun to read along.

Fantastic set by the wonderful Lady Asphodel

Title: The fifth house
Author: pathfinder
Link(s): HPFF (12+)
Era: Next Generation
Main Character(s): OC
Main Pairing(s): -
Genre(s): Mystery, Action/Adventure
Format/Status: Novel/Completed

Summary: Willow is a normal 11-year old American girl.  Once she attends a new school, her whole life changes instantly.  Many challenges await her: getting through initiation, learning magic, and making friends.  Although attending Ilvermorny to learn the ways of magic, she finds her wand isn't working, but no one understands why.  As mystery after mystery unravel, will Willow and her friends discover the secret of the fifth house in time?

Reasons for Recommending: This is a slightly AU (since it was written without the new "inside info" on Ilvermorny), wonderfully written story set in America with interesting thoughts on native American magic and a captivating and well-developed plot-line.

Title: A Little Doubt
Author: lovegood27
Link(s): HPFF
Era: Hogwarts
Main Character(s): Fleur, OtherCanon
Main Pairing(s): None
Genre(s): Fluff, General
Summary: Muggle schools can sometimes give you doubts even about the people you love the most.
Reasons for Recommending: An excellently written one-shot that features a minor character from a country we know quite little about (France).

Title: Isabella
Author: TreacleTart
Link(s): HPFT (Teen Audience)
Main Character(s): Original Female Character
Genre(s): Action/Adventure, Angst, Drama, Romance
Summary: A story about turning thirteen and the magic world in Mexico.
Reasons for Recommending: I just came across this story written by one of my favourite authors :) It's a WIP with only two chapters up at the moment, but it definitely caught my interest as it so intensively (and authentically) writes about an American country we know very little about in therm if magic.

Recently I was requested to review a story that  has this Around the World theme taking place in Romania, Egypt, England & Argentina

Since there seems to be only a few recommendations in this category, I thought I'd share it with you :) It might not be the best thing I've ever read, but it gives a nice view of different countries while keeping the story coherent.

Title: Weight of the World (M)

Title: Your World And Mine
Author: lovegood27
Link(s): HPFT (M)
Length / Completed: 2449 words, Completed
Main Character(s): Antonin Dolohov, Cho Chang (HP), Original Female Character
Genre(s): Dark/Horror, General
Summary: "You're a muggle, aren't you?" he asks.
You don't know what a muggle is. From his tone, you can tell it's not a good thing if you are one.
"I- I don't know." You have to force the words out of your mouth. "I don't know what a Muggle is."
"You must be one, then," the masked man says. "Follow me, and I'll show you."

Title: Tengu and a Daughter of Ninja
Author: StarFeather
Link(s): http://archive.hpfanfictalk.com/viewstory.php?sid=239&textsize=0&chapter=2 (M)
Length / Completed: 43690 words, WIP
Characters: Albus Severus Potter
Genre(s): Action/Adventure
Summary: "How does kappa produce young ones?" asked Malfoy again.
Albus flipped through the Potions textbook.
Can Scorpius Malfoy save his father? Ron will be back to solve the case with Auror Harry Potter.

Most of the story (as far as I've read, which is Chapter 2) takes place in Hogwarts, but it has an accompaning piece (also centred around kappa) that takes place in Japan: Harry's and Ron's Investigation in Ninja Country
