Sad to see Aph stepping down but I know that you have done so much for the site so thanks for everything you have done! Also those awards, banners, and that header are all absolutely gorgeous!
  7. So I have failed at NaNo this month. However this month I have found some cute christmas movies, made 2 batches of brownies, made chocolate chip muffins, spent lots of time with my fur babies (found out I am allergic to 2 of them), and took probably about 20+ bathes. I call that successful

  8. Once Upon The Marauders (Years 4,5) - by FlamingQuilltips / princesslily_36

Just stopping by to say: YOU'VE GOT THIS! Seriously, I love stories that are like this. They explore so much of the character development that it makes it really easy to understand the characters and where they have been and what they want out of life. I know I've already told you dramione is my OTP... well Lily/James is my second favorite to read! I don't really know what it is about them that makes me love them so much but I do. I will definitely have to look into this story and start reading it some time.
  9. Finally sitting down to attempt writing. It's been a while but at least a few words are pouring out onto the document.

  13. Pajama Party Check In

This lady is decked out in fleece leggings and a maroon cotton tee... thinking its a bit too gryffindor of me but super comfortable so I guess it will have to do. Also no costume for tomorrow. I will either be doing a double at my job or staying at home with my fur babies continuing to tie up the loose ends for my NaNo novel.

    1. Alopex

      Alopex

It's a replacement. I think we started it at JulNo? That said, you can arrange adoptions with your friends in PMs and such...we just aren't posting a thread for it. :)

      Renacerá

Aww! I had a hamster as a kid, and one of my sisters had a chinchilla. I love little fuzzy pets!

Now that I have my kitty though, I may not get any tiny ones again. I think Gumbo wouldn’t be the best at playing nice! :ninjavanish:

  24. The Crazies' Cafe is getting started! I'm so excited to begin NaNo prep!

  25. Rick Riordan-verse

Percy Jackson is an amazing series. Greek mythology was always something that interested me but I never really spent much time reading about it. For me, the thing that makes Percy Jackson such a great series is that it takes the myths but ties them into more relevant material so it's easier for young readers to grasp and get interested in. I also enjoyed the fact that ADHD was shown as being a strength for the characters rather than a weakness as often times mental illness is shown in a negative light. Another thing I love about the series is that all ages can read an enjoy the books. I have young nephews who have read and loved the series and enjoy talking to me about where they are at in the books and what their favorite parts have been. I also got my boyfriend into the series as well and young adult isn't really his thing. He's more into books where you learn things like philosophy, psychology, and political books. It's nice to have things that we can both talk to my nephews about and be able to understand what they are talking about because when it comes to most of the other things they are into, I have no idea what they are saying. So books have become a really good way for me to talk to them about relevant material and explain more about situations in life that they will experience. I also really loved the Kane Chronicles as it introduced me to this whole new world as I had never explored Egyptian mythology before. He does a fantastic job of allowing his readers to explore new areas and give us enough information that we understand what is going on as well as providing us with a dictionary so we can look up the things we need to that he is unable to explain fully in writing the story.
