  1. just.a.willow.tree's reviews

EVA!!! I saw in your most recent reviews that you were interested in my 2 OC's, so I have come with 2 One-Shots that will tell you more about BOTH of their back stories, as you requested!!!! You don't have to take them both right now if you don't have time. You can do one or the other. I hope you like them though. Thank you so much for everything, Eva. Your reviews have really made my day!! Story & Author Name: Born A Leader [M] by RoxiMalfoyWarnings & Advisories: Hate SpeechGenres: Angst, DramaLength: One-Shot (1,515 Words)Ships: NoneSummary: My name is Saleena Blackwell and, whether I like it or not, I was born to be a leader. I have spent the last 30 years of my life running away from my past because I did not want it to become my future. But it seems that all is catching up with me now, as I find myself back in the last place on earth I ever wanted to be… my home.Areas of Concern: This one-shot takes place after chapter 8 of Love, Not War when Saleena goes back to meet with her grandmother. In your review of the "Drop of Veritaserum" chapter, you had expressed interest in seeing how Saleena interacted with her family and her Clan, so I though you might enjoy reading this companion piece!! I wrote it for an Original Character Challenge a really long time ago, lol! As far as areas of concern go, feel free to point out whatever sticks out, really. Most of it OF since there is basically nothing from HP in this story other than them mentioning Voldemort. I hope you like it!! Story & Author Name: One Day at a Time by RoxiMalfoyWarnings & Advisories: NoneGenres: Angst, Hurt/ComfortLength: One-Shot (3,275 Words)Ships: None Summary: Roxandrea Zarooni feels as if her whole entire world is on the verge of collapsing. But even still, she has a very important decision to make. When times of trouble strike, she has found that it is best to just live your life one day at a time, and see where life takes you.Areas of Concern: I wrote this one-shot for a "First Line" Challenge. I wanted to give people an inside look into what was going on in Roxi's life before she came to London and joined the Aurors. There's not much of an opportunity to tell about these particular events of her life from Draco's POV in LNW, so I had a lot of fun writing from her perspective in this one-shot! You had mentioned in your other reviews that you were excited to know more about her, so I hope you enjoy this story!! Thank you so much for everything, Eva!! I am SO HAPPY you are liking the story so well!!!
  2. Best Original Character Voting

There are so many great Original Characters here at HPFT that all just seem to fit in perfectly within the world of HP that we all know and love!! And there were so many excellent nominees this year, but in the end it comes down to these fabulous five!! Please chose your favorite Character from the choices below for Best OC! In this phase, there is only one simple rule - Do NOT Vote for Yourself! Still need help? The finalists and the reasons for their nominations are below (with links): Brendon Greengrass - Sidenote: Greengrass dys/function Series [M] by: @abhorsen./Beeezie Reason for Nomination: All of Branwen's characters in this series are spot-on, but Brendon is a particular joy to read. Branwen is able to capture a big-brother vibe with him while still showing how much he respects his sister Astoria's choices. Brendon is multifaceted, a Slytherin with a strong sense of justice, a perspective we don't get to read about Slytherins often enough. This character is awesome, and this series is amazing. Dahlia Darzi - When Dahlias Bloom [M] by: @dirigibleplums Reason for Nomination: Dahlia Darzi is, to say the least, a handful. From her introduction in Dormitory 2.6A, she has been beyond my favorite character. She's loud, unapologetic, ridiculously blunt and delightfully sarcastic. How she can work at a social place like a coffee shop and not get fired is magic in and of itself. Amazingly, even with an arsenal of curse words on her tongue, she is very respectful when she is at home, almost like slipping on a Family Mask where she is filtered and more reserved. (She's almost adorable.) She is true to herself, loyal to her family and friends and just super fun to read. Hero Blishwick - Hero [M] by: @victoria_anne Reason for Nomination: I simply cannot gush about this character enough!! Hero is about as original as they come. I absolutely loved reading this story in her POV. The way that Bianca tells the story through this girl is simply AMAZING!!! A Gryffindor who comes from a family of pure-blood Slytherins, with a back-story that is full of drama and suspense that will leave you constantly trying to solve the mystery that is Hero Blishwick, lol!! Even her family members are all fully fleshed-out characters, with back stories of their own too - even though her brother Finn is a total git in this one, haha!! Bianca has clearly thought of everything in this fic, and her attention to detail is superb!! It was such an addicting read; watching this innocent girl fall for the bad guy. (I've seriously never caught myself yelling aloud at a character so many times as I did with Hero, lol!), But Bianca's story-telling just sucks you right in, and you cannot help but to fall for these characters. She really makes you feel like you're getting to know them, on a personal level, as you're reading the story. And to be honest, I've never seen a character quite like Hero before. She is certainly unique, I will give the girl that one, haha!! I absolutely LOVE her though!! Piper Stone - House of Stone by: @WindingArrow Reason for nomination: Liz does an amazing job at slotting Piper into the Golden Trio's world. It is like she belongs there, she's such a fun character and Liz makes her personality and humor come alive through Piper's strong thought process and dialogue. Liz has crafted such a rich and interesting backstory for her too and she's got such chemistry with all the other canon characters! Roxi Zarooni - Love, Not War [M] by: @RoxiMalfoy Reason for Nomination: It's no secret that this is one of my all-time favorite stories on our archive, and Roxi is the reason why. I can't say too much without revealing spoilers, but she comes in as a new member of the Auror team and is partnered with Tonks. She quickly establishes herself as a no-nonsense individual and certainly gives Draco a run for his money. She is an amazing character, and Deana does a great job with her portrayal of Roxi!
  3. Best HP Major Character Voting

There are a lot of great Characters in Harry Potter, and here at HPFT, our authors do a fantastic job of writing these beloved characters!! But which story do you think represents your favorite MAJOR HP character the BEST?? In this phase, there is only one simple rule - Do NOT Vote for Yourself! Still need help? The finalists and the reasons for their nominations are below (with links): Albus Severus Potter - And The World Goes On (part of the Confounding Factors series) by: @manno-malfoy Reason for Nomination: What can't I say about this? Albus is absolutely effing perfect here. He has complexity layered on top of teenage angst on top of being asexual and also in love with his girlfriend (who is also perfectly written!). Manno does such an amazing job bringing Albus to life, and I can't recommend this story enough. Hermione Granger - After Life [M] by: @MegGonagall Reason for Nomination: I've always loved Meg's wielding of Hermione in her previous works and this one certainly did not disappoint! The thing I love most about Hermione in this is that when Hermione is put in unusual situations, Meg understands her character so well that she's able to craft believable actions and reactions around these situations making for a very entertaining story. Lily Luna Potter - Icarus Icarus [M] by: @Stella Blue Reason for Nomination: I had to think for a while about which category I wanted to nominate Icarus and at last, I decided on Best Major Character because undoubtedly, Kristin’s Lily is one of the most compelling, well-rounded, and likable characters I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about. One of the best parts of Icarus was following Lily on her journey to self-acceptance and finding her own place in the world. This story has an undoubtedly insane plot (another reason that I love it so much) but one of the things that touches my heart about it and makes it feel universal regardless of the insane and obviously unrealistic plot is Lily’s very relatable and realistic character growth. Also, she’s honestly so hilarious. Truly a delight to read. Petunia Evans/Dursley - Beyond Repair by: @MuggleMaybe Reason for Nomination: The concept of this story is so fascinating and unique - I don't think I've ever read a story which really explores the relationship between Lily and Petunia in such depth before. Renee's portrayal of Petunia in this story is brilliant; it's very difficult to get me to sympathize with a character I dislike so much in the books, but she manages it here and I'm so impressed with the characterization in this story.
  4. Best Minor HP Character Voting

Here are your finalists for Best Minor Harry Potter Character!! Please select which Minor Character you feel best deserves to be recognized. In this phase, there is only one simple rule - Do NOT Vote for Yourself! Still need help? The finalists and the reasons for their nominations are below (with links): Peter Pettigrew - Liar [M] by: @Felpata_Lupin Reason for Nomination: Surely everyone is familiar with the brilliance that is Chiara's Marauders by now. Peter is not a very well-liked character, but Chiara writes him in a way that is both so true to the books but also stirs feelings inside you that you didn't think you could ever have for Peter. She allows you to understand his motivations in a story that is simply amazing. Crookshanks - Hermione's Betrayal by: @forever_dreaming Reason for Nomination: This is such a gem of a story because it's told from the point of view of Crookshanks in the best way possible. Not only does it represent cat behaviour impeccably and accurately, but it's entertaining and, if I may say so, perfect. I really can't imagine that it's easy to write such a realistic story from the point of view of an animal. The story really does revolve around Crookshanks trying to find out what is causing a change in Hermione's behaviour, and so he uses his special pet powers to do that, all while introducing us to all his likes, dislikes, and his excellent observational skills. Anthony Goldstein - First Lit, Last Burning [M] by: @MuggleMaybe Reason for Nomination: This story is absolutely brilliant. Renee just adds layer upon thought-provoking layer here and really delves into Anthony's mind during the events of DH, especially surrounding how he sees his roles in the struggle and whether he feels that he can really make a difference. Words cannot express how much I adore this fic - it's so, so, so good. If you haven't read it, please check it out! Roxanne Weasley - Jigsaw [M] by: @nott theodore Reason for Nomination (spoiler alert from me!! →): The story is told from the first person POV, Roxanne's mind movement. Through her eyes, you can enjoy her POV about her family , I often smile at Sian's descriptions of her parents, Angelina, George and the other relatives (you can meet Auror Harry Potter later!), friends and mystery. Olive Hornby - Dear Myrtle by: @Stella Blue Reason for Nomination: Olive Hornby is such a minor character in book canon, but she's someone who's always intrigued me, and Kristin really brought to life a character who only ever exists in a few lines. Her exploration of Olive's back story is fascinating, and I found her relationship with Myrtle so interesting to read. I loved this story, and it's such a brilliant example of what someone can do with a minor character. Lysander Scamander - Lightning Love [M] by: @toomanycurls Reason for Nomination: Lysander is the sweetest little cinnamon roll, and I love how adorkable he is. As always, Rose has a gift for writing such well rounded, realistic characters who you can’t help but to root for. From the first chapter I immediately loved him and am sure anyone else who reads the story will feel the same way.

Hello Shreya!! I see that your request thread is looking rather lonely, lol!! I'll just leave this here for you then... Story & Author Name: Doing the Right Thing by RoxiMalfoyWarnings & Advisories: NoneGenres: AU, Dark/HorrorLength: One-Shot, 1,500 WordsShips: N/ASummary: Mother had always said that I was different. She believed that I was capable of doing the right thing. Whatever that meant...Areas of Concern: This is a missing moment from my main Novel; Love, Not War. It actually takes place 3 months before the events of the main story begin. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this before coming back to request the full story. It's rather short, so just feel free to point out whatever sticks out to you. Thank you so much!!

I do realize that some of my chapters run a little bit on the longer side though, so if 4-5 is too many, than just feel free to R&R whatever you're comfortable with. (I honestly just need to learn better balance, haha!!) Thank you soo much for the generous offer, Eva!! If you like the story, I will most definitely come back to re-request the next few chapters when you have spaces open again!!
  17. Thirded!!! Kayla is siriusly such a master when it comes to writing the character of Sirius Black, lol! She really gets into his head, and it just feels like she knows him him SO WELL.
  18. Best Non-HP Fandom Nominations

Thirding because this Series is amazing!!!!
  19. Best LGBTQA+ Character Nominations

    OMG, SOO MUCH THIRDING!!!
  20. Best Family/Friendship Nominations

Characters Involved: Petter Pettigrew and Sirius Black Archive Name: @poppunkpadfoot Story/Series Title: "Secret Keeper" Link to story: +Teen Reason for nominating: Peter Pettigrew is NOT typically my most favorite character to read about; let alone have a story that's being told from his POV. That being said, however, Kayla has done a miraculous job of taking this evil character that we all love to hate, and making him actually feel likable. I absolutely LOVED how she chose to highlight the friendship between Sirius and Peter that is often times overlooked in Marauders fics. She has them both characterized in such believable ways, and everything in this piece just flows so naturally. I love the way the Sirius confesses his secret to Peter (even if it was not 100% intentional), and then how Peter proceeds to go out of his way to prove to Sirius that his friends will all still love and accept him just the way that he is; no matter what. It's all so sweet and endearing, and it's a side of Peter Pettigrew (post-war) that I really quite enjoyed reading about. They were all true friends at one point and, if you think of this story in terms of it being a "missing moment" of sorts from the books, it would actually make sense at to why Sirius was so quick to put his trust in Wormtail when it came down to something as important as the lives of Lily and James Potter... It's just SUCH a great story, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has not read it yet!!
  21. Most Versatile Author Nominations

Archive Name: @BlackPixie Link to Author's Page: +All - Mature Reason for Nomination: Hayden's AP is two pages long, and it is chocked-full of so much variety! Hayden writes all different types of stories, from poetry to short-stories, to drabbles; and they're always experimenting with writing different eras and genres, as well as trying out new characters with every new piece that they write. Hayden doesn't only write for the Harry Potter fandom either! There are also a few Original Fiction pieces, and some Hamilton fan-fiction on their AP as well!! Hayden's writing style is so unique and so different, and I really feel as though it deserves to be recognized!!
  22. Seconding this so hard right now, OMG!! I actually came in here to nominate this story, but it seems that Liz has already beaten me to it, lol!! I wanted to nominate it because this piece is so powerful, and the emotion in it is so raw and just so beautifully well written. This is such a great original piece and, like Liz said, everyone NEEDS to read it; if you haven't done so already!!
