  1. "Rendition" by Renacerá

Beautiful, amazing, perfect banner by abhorsen. @ TDA! Thank you for all your support, Branwen! Title: Rendition (sequel to Collateral—posted on HPFF as Rule Breaker—being edited to post on HPFT with new banner also by abhorsen.) Title Inspiration: From V for Vendetta, "I remember how the meaning of words began to change; how unfamiliar words like 'collateral' and 'rendition' became frightening...I remember how 'different' became dangerous." Additional Inspiration: Also from V for Vendetta, "Our integrity sells for so little, but it is all we really have. It is the very last inch of us, but within that inch we are free...I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish. Every inch but one. An inch — it is small and it is fragile, and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us." Details: post-Hogwarts, rated either T or M, genres include action/adventure/romance/drama Unofficial Summary: The war is over. The losses were heavy. As Draco and Hermione begin to rebuild their lives, the wizarding world is beginning to rebuild itself. But what type of world will rise from the ashes? And will what rises be worse than what fell?
  2. Lightning Love - toomanycurls

I'm going to work on Lightning Love (M) for Nano! It's a love triangle story where Lily Luna Potter, Lysander Scamander, Hugo Weasley, and two other (OC) boarders are living with Molly Weasley I at the Burrow. It's a follow on to Pure Intentions/True Romance and has cameos from the same characters from PI/TR with a heavy theme of following your heart and learning what happens when you don't pursue love. aka everyone is getting a heartbreak. Hugo has a story arc about self acceptance and bullying There's at least one death. It'll be fun.
  3. Ok, so - I have written 1,948 words. Yes, I am WAY behind It's OK, I will catch up. But, has anyone noticed that Christmas is coming up?? I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! Yes, I have been Christmas shopping and not writing. To be fair though, I have 5 babies to shop for. Even though my eldest is 14 and into Anime and Pokemon, I'm still looking at HP stuff to buy. Which also reminds me. A friend's son is turning 11 this year, so he is getting a HP birthday. I'm going to crochet something small up for him and post it from "Mrs Weasley" The last few days I've spent moving my sites to a new hosting server that is more economical and that reminded me to update here. Here are a few lines from what I have written though
  4. Get ready. Get Set. And.........

So, I lied in 2007, I wrote New Beginnings (MA) and wrote 33,560 words. This is the most I have written, not the 28,297 from the year before. I figured this out as I updated the NaNoWriMo site of my previous attempts and word counts. I'm missing documents from 2009 - 2010 or I may not have labelled them as "nano" and can't remember what they were In any case, as I type this, there are 52 minutes to go till NaNo starts here in Sydney, Australia. I decided to continue writing my original piece. I've no real idea where to start - I just plan on writing. I added my word count widget to my profile picture, so this will show my progress. Good luck for those doing NaNoWriMo 2017
  5. Love, Not War by: RoxiMalfoy

~ Love, Not War [M] ~ | Novel | WIP | 2nd Wizarding War | AU | Draco/OC | Banner made by myself; RoxiMalfoy Dear Lord, what have I gotten myself into?!? I have not done NaNo since 2014, so I'm a bit rusty, lol!! My WIP has been lonely here lately though, as I have not been able to write/update nearly as often as I'd like. (Sorry, Tasha!!) So that is why I have decided to join the Rebels this NaNo season, and make it my goal to get at least two - if not three - chapters written next month!! So hopefully by the end of this thing, we'll have some updates coming your way, haha!! I am currently starting on Chapter 20, so the goal is to get through to Chapter 22 by the end of November! *fingerscrossed* Story Summary: When tragedy strikes, Lucius Malfoy is forced to make a difficult decision. He then hands his only son over to the Order of the Phoenix, in the hopes that they will protect him from Lord Voldemort. Now, with nowhere else to go, Draco Malfoy is stuck living at the Burrow with the Weasley’s. But when another new witch from America moves in too, things start to get... interesting. Genres: AU, Angst, Horror/Dark, Drama Characters: Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, Roxi Zarooni [OC], Saleena Blackwell [OC], Molly & Arthur Weasley, Percy Weasley, Lord Voldemort, Severus Snape, Minerva McGonagall, Rufus Scrimgeour, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, (and several other various characters appear all throughout the story as well..) Synopsis: The main focus of LNW is actually not meant to be on the Draco/OC relationship, but rather on that of the father-son relationship between Draco & Lucius. I love taking these typical bad guys and changing people's entire perspective on them; making them feel a different way about these characters that we have already come to perceive a certain way from the books. It has always been my believe that Draco was merely a product of his bad upbringing, and this story expands on that... In the beginning, due to some tragic circumstances in which you will just have to read to discover; a desperate Lucius takes a near dead Draco to the Order of the Phoenix in the hopes that they will protect him from Voldemort. So when Draco recovers, he wakes up in the Burrow with no recollection of how he ended up with the Weasley's. And he quite literally has nowhere else to go, or anyone else to turn to, so he is forced to humble himself and accept their help; whether he likes it or not. The story is an AU, as I originally did come up with the idea in between books six & seven; if that tells you anything about how old this project is, haha!! However, after Deathly Hallows was released, I did weave some key details from book seven into the story as well. But for the most part it focuses on Draco, and what life at the Burrow was like for the rest of the Order Members while the Trio was out hunting for the Horcruxes during the war. The story has a lot of underlining themes; like forgiveness and redemption, and it deals with some pretty heavy topics too; like thoughts of death and depression, as Draco and Lucius both struggle through some pretty dark times throughout their individual journeys. But I like to take every moment; be it high or low, and use it for character growth. Especially with these two Malfoys, lo! Pre-NaNo Thoughts: I'm really excited because, at some point within these next three chapters that I'll be writing next month, I’m finally going to reach the part in the story where Draco & Lucius have their first big confrontation. Most of the story has been leading up to this moment between these two characters, so it should be a pretty climactic NaNo; and I am really hoping to come out of it with some pretty exciting updates!! This Novel is my baby, lol! I have put so much into it over the years, and I am making it MY GOAL to complete this thing ASAP! It has been put on the back-burner recently, as RL and my staff duties have taken precedence over my writing. So I am looking forward to November, to actually have a genuine excuse to return to this story, and pay attention to my characters again... If you want to know more, or are interested in reading what I have so far, feel free to check it out sometime!! I love chatting about this Novel with my readers; or anyone and everyone who will listen to my crazy ideas, lol!! I like hearing people's theories and complaints about a certain baddie we all love to hate in this story, lol!
  6. NaNoWriMo 2017

The countdown to NaNoWriMo is on again. I participate EVERY year and I fail every year. I expect no different this year. Why do I do it? Because I've been working on my original fiction since 2009 and have yet to complete my first draft. It's a historical fiction based on a true timeline of events in Australia. As such, its also dealing with real towns and the longer I fail at writing, the more "life" goes on and towns change. But, I have spent over $2000 of my own money in research for this, so I can never give up - nor do I want to. Life has also played a massive part in the "no writing" aspect. I work full time and have just recently had baby #5. Motherhood kinda has to be a priority I came close to finishing NaNo once - my first year in 2006, with Draco and Ginny Pudding (MA), it sits at 28,297 words and I have yet to move all of it here to HPFT. The title was inspired by the HPFF Cliche Cafe, part of the NaNo fun on the forums of the time. It's the most I have written for NaNo - My least being 450 words last year Hopefully this year I will succeed, I just have no idea if I'll try and write my OF, start another, or write FF. Below in an excerpt from my original fiction - A first ever peek. I've never posted it publicly before. I have 3 more days to decide...I'll keep you updated.
  7. When attempting to write a large amount of words in a short amount of time, comfort is something that's paramount. Having soft pillows or a fuzzy blanket can make the difference. An improper slant in the office chair can turn into a huge distraction. So what makes your writing space perfect? Share with us by either describing your area (good practice for those descriptive passages you'll be writing soon!) or with a picture. Please, do not include any fine location data or images of yourself.
