The Productivity Thread

Recommended Posts

A few of you expressed interest in this on Twitter, so I'm creating a thread for us to list everything we need to do so we can support and motivate each other to complete our goals.

Basically just post what you need to get done within the span of, say, a week or so, and then at the end of that period copy your post with what you did crossed off.

There are two basic rules to this thread. First, follow the site rules (obviously :P). Second, I know we're all going to banter back and forth about procrastinating and avoiding our work (which is fine), but unless somebody explicitly says "pls yell at me if you see me on social media" let's keep comments in the thread because some people might not be comfortable with being poked for tweeting. :)

Go be productive! :D

I have to fill out a form, fill out an application (and figure out what I want to say on the application) and review some Spanish (which I am terrible at).

The thing that I've been putting off the most is the application- it's due next week, on the 15th, and I've barely done any work on it. A lot of the questions I have to write an elegant and craftily worded response to, and I don't even know where to start. It's what I'm about to do right now, hopefully, if I stop distracting myself by going on HPFT.

Edit: HELP ME I can't do this. I just keep staring at the questions and literally nothing is popping in my head. To be fair, most of the questions are fairly ridiculous. Like, one of the questions says: "Please explain what it means to be a “role model"." I DON'T KNOW! Give me a story prompt instead, please! Not these terribly vague questions!

Stopping by with my list of procrastination productivity! ^_^

-write letter and send form to a place (really needs to be done ASAP, should have been done in October :ninja:)

-finish chapter four of Where The Wind Takes Me

-get to 25k of Where The Wind Takes Me

-edit/rewrite and submit at least one chapter of The Firework-Maker’s Daughter to the queue

The goal is to achieve everything by Sunday at 9:30pm... we’ll see 9_9 Please do poke me for updates and hold me accountable for this on Twitter!

@Phoenix Potioneer As a starting point, why don’t you treat those as story prompts eg: Peter didn’t want to be a role model. The responsibility weighed upon his shoulders, a constant source of strain while paranoia whispered in the back of his mind: people are judging you for all those detentions you keep getting, for hanging around with James and Sirius. And then with words on the screen, you can rewrite it like: The responsibility of being a role model can be stressful and negatively impact on friendships with people who may otherwise be considered ‘inappropriate’. I hope that helps! :)

Let me see,  productivity... (these things below could be done when I can find time among RL team works)

1 need to upgrade my skill for the second stage of English test (I don't have much time though)

2 with slow paces though, keep doing Review-Mon-Go for fellow lions

3 When my Muse whispers, I'll write next chapters or start a new OF (maybe Urban Fantasy?)

Candy Beakers?!

Ummm...  I need to know what this is and how to do it—like, now.

Okay, here's my goal for today:

  • outline the "gaps" in ASLTW
  • finish the climax scene in ASLTW
  • exercise
  • leave a review

I've gotta keep it to that, or it won't get done!

Yeah! So what my chemistry club is doing is filling glass 250 mL beakers full of various kinds of candy and attaching cute science-related pickup lines. We're selling them for $6 to students, faculty, staff, whoever wants one! They're super cute :)
