To quote Ron Weasley, “Brilliant, but a little scary.” When I first glanced at the summary, I thought, “can she pull off an entire one-shot about the Cruciatus Curse,” but it didn’t pop up until halfway through the story. You did an awesome job setting the stage and have a beautiful way with words to describe Bellatrix. I particularly like the references to Bellatrix falling off her path that she had followed with so much fervor that she was actually afraid. I had never thought of Bellatrix as afraid of anything but it makes sense for this situation. Here’s a woman who is teetering on the edge of sanity anyways, when everything she has lived for is gone in a blink of an eye, it pushes her over the edge. Now saying that she wasn’t capable of such torture before, but rather she no longer sees the lack of logic in what she is doing, for she will never get the answers she seeks from them. I also love the ending, the fading away to darkness, the only way he can escape away from those eyes.
