Hello once again! I'm so happy you have so many Dramiones for me to read! :D
So, I just want to start by saying that the concept of a Mourning Ring is absolutely beautiful. I'd never considered it before, but I love it. I lost a friend a few years ago—he was hit by a car while riding his bike—and I got a tattoo to memorialize him. I guess maybe that's a more modern version of a mourning ring. Though it also seems like maybe someone else usually gives you the ring. I'll have to look it up! Either way, I think it's really lovely.
In addition to that plot element, I really liked your characterization of Draco and Hermione. I am a huge sucker for Reformed Draco stories, and this one fit the bill perfectly. I really do think he would have wanted to be a better person after the war, and I love that this story focuses on him wanting Hermione in particular to hold him accountable. I would love to see another story about the moment that he knew she would be the one he would ask to do that. And I think Hermione would rise to the task. I love to imagine that she did stay when he arrived at Oxford. Ugh. That's such a beautiful image for their future. Write that now please. ;)
Really good job with this story. I liked it a lot!
Ugh! But I wanna know more! I can't believe I never read this before when I entered the same challenge! This was so sweet. I love the idea of the Mourning Ring and how they make vows to each other. I hope she holds him accountable to be a better person. And I hope she does stay when he comes to live at the villa while in classes. I'm surprised he's chosen to go to Oxford. I'd be very curious to read about that. This was such an adorable story and I have been thoroughly enjoying your stories thus far.
Nix, hello there! You entered it as well?! Cool! It's been quite awhile.
Thank you for reading and reviewing. I had fun imagining this one and researching what a mourning ring was. In my mind Hermione stays and takes a chance on living with him. Curiosity and intrigue have her staying... that and the library, of course. Ha!
Thank you sincerely for your review,
