I am so relieved right now. And Ron is so lucky he didn't get publicly exposed, yikes! I'm so proud of him for telling the truth in the end, though.

Mostly I find Ron so relatable here. I mean, I'm not a professional athlete, let alone a professional athlete who's doping, but that's not really the point, is it? There's so much pressure to live up to the expectations in our minds. Ron irritates me because we are similar, tbh. Everythign feels high stakes and personal because there is so much fear of failure or of disappointing others. And you captured that so well without focusing to heavy and hande on it. Maybe if he received more credit and acceptance for what he was actually good at, it never would have come to using the felix, you know?

Anyway, i love George. I love a non-judgmental approach and even though it seems George has his own struggles with substance abuse, I really think he would have been just as kind to Ron even if he couldn't relate.

The scenes at the shop show how well Ron fits there and that he's way more in his element and at peace. I didn't know if the story would end with him becoming more genuinely successful at quidditch or leaving it, and I'm really glad he left. I think it can be hard to except the more "boring" or "adult" parts of our personality as we get older, and maybe having a hig profile job matched his old dreams as a kid - but in reality he like the routine and the low pressure and that's totally fine! You know?

Sorry, i'm getting all in my feelings. Please ignore :P

This fic was brilliant and incredibly original and I'll read a Ron Weasley story by you anyday!

oh dear. oh dear, oh dear. our little ronnikins is doping. i confess, i did not see this plotline coming.

On the one hand it's kind of funny, because he's doing a super illegal thing for such an unnecessary reason... but also it's alarming because he's doing a super illegal thing for such an unnecessary reason. Do you see my dilemma??

I'm enjoying the other members of the team. Pooja and Jonesy and everyone seem like fun people to work with. I have a vgue theory that Kev has a crush on Ron but that might be my imagination. (but i hope it isn't :P)

Writing about Quidditch is so hard, but you handled it really well without letting it get repetative. I just hope Ron doesn't get too destroyed with he gets caught with the felix, because he's obviously going to get caught.

the letter from Hermione at the end is far and away the best use of the author's note space i have ever seen.

Here's hoping Ron's decision making skills will improve shortly :P

Hello Emma!

I remember when you were posting about this story on Twitter, but I never got around to reading it. I'm glad I'm reading it now.

This is an excellent portrayal of Ron, and I relate to him so much. I think it's hard to be the person who doesn't know what they want, and in his case especially his life has been defined by someone else's identity as well as by war. It's really hard to move on from that, but also so important. And really, it was never good for his identity to be so about Harry, but I can understand how that happened and I don't fault anyone for it.

And of course there's also the PTSD. Such fun.

Still, I'm not sure about this whole qudditch idea. I hope Ron is able to accept the outcome asbased on his own merit and not Harry, because being in his shadow is such a big part of the issue to begin with.

Also, the Chudley Chutneys. I DIED. What an amazingly, wonderfully *horrendous* team name. Fantastic.

This is so fun and funny and relatable and I am very pleased to be reading it.

xoxo Renee

Triple howdy.

Well, I can't say the result wasn't deserved. I HATE CHEATING from A-Fraud to Barry BALCO (MLB players if baseball isn't your jam) and I partly hate Ron for it - even if I understand his motivations. He IS lucky to have a family and friends who don't abandon him though.

Thanks again for the entry!

Howdy howdy!

Uh oh. Ron's cheating and getting addicted to the feels of victory at the same time. On the one hand I hope he doesn't get caught. On the other I hope he does. With a third, non-existent hand, I hope we're revisiting the Hogwarts situation.

If he thinks he's let everyone down before, he'll absolutely do so if he is in fact cheating and gets busted. And that will include Harry, Hermione, his family - everyone.

See you in the next chapter!

Howdy!

I think the story is off to a great start! You've really good job so far with the characterizations of Ron and Harry and in particular getting us inside Ron's head when he's essentially drifiting post-War. The dynamic between Harry and Ron is also handled well and I'm interested to see things unfold as Ron joins the Chutneys (huzzah the name and alliteration).

Thanks for the entry!

Hi Emma,

I really love Ron in this. I don't think anyone is given enough time to develop past the war in DH and I don't often see the indecisivness of early adulthood done well for Ron. He's always so overshadowed and I'm sure that would give him a complex for life. I think it is entirely plausable that he sticks with Harry and then realises that he's his own person and breaks off. I hope his drug dependency has a happy ending, poor baby.

Thank you for this and giving some structure to the Quidditch season.

Hey! I couldn't resist giving this fic a read after you mentioned it on twitter the other day!

Harry and Ron are so brilliantly written! The vibe I get is that Ron doesn't really know who he is or what he wants to know. He followed Harry, and now he's realised being an auror isn't for him. I also like that he got an invitation to chudley canons from Harry, and not his own skill. I mean, poor Ron, but it makes sense! There would be a lot of inner conflict and trying to make a different name for yourself, one that wasn't "helped defeat voldemort."

I really do feel for Ron, but I hope he does well in his new career. Please let him do well, haha!
