Story:A Witch in the Family Chapter: A Witch in the Family

What a cute story! Of course, Dudley would have a magical daughter--how ironic! You've hit the nail on the head with the emotions of each character from the reluctance of Harry to the wide-eyed dazzlement of his niece. You can definitely see the strain between Dudley and his cousin and Lily reminding her dad to invite them to Diagonal Alley was perfect. I was just thinking, "Okay, Harry, you need to pick up the reins and be the responsible adult, here." It's obvious he wasn't going to think of it, so his daughter had to. I also think your interpretation of Uncle Vernon is spot on. Dudley better have Harry there for back up when he tells his dad. (Oh, I hope he doesn't blame Petunia. Wouldn't it be ironic if they traced his own family back to magical lineage.)

I wonder how the story would have been different if Ginny had been at home.

Nice story. It has potential to become a short story if you have interest.

Thanks so much. This story strangely has ended up as one of my most popular across platforms, so maybe I will expand it. Sorry it took so long to reply!

I loved this! I can see Dudley having a magical child because like Harry said, karma. I loved the fact though that Dudley came with his family to Harry to guidance. You could really see the change in their relationship. Though it is strained and distant now they have an olive branch of sorts. Dudley knows about magic and the benefits of magic, the protective aspect of it thanks to Harry and also the bad parts of magic. He knows about the struggle and everything Harry has gone through. We see him change at the end of the books so to see him accept the fact his daughter is a witch is a huge milestone. I think it would help give Harry closure. I especially don't see Petunia rejecting her grandchild. Would Vernon? Well. I actually don't see that happening either. Of course he'd probably blame his wife for that one. I don't know but I did think this was a great story. I loved the entire piece!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!  This floated around in my head for a while and poured out fast.  I was glad to get it out of my head but the feedback on it has been so encouraging.  Thank you so much. :)
