Albus Potter/Scorpius Malfoy

I have fallen in love with this ship over the last few months, and I have to say that I haven't looked back. Whether they go from enemies to lovers or start as best friends first, they're a very exciting ship.

I personally love when Albus is a Slytherin and the two become best friends. With both of them trying to be different from their fathers.

What are your thoughts?

Dude, you are not alone! This is my OTP, I actively search out for fics and at one point I couldn't find any and I was so angry that it's not as popular as Scorose. Before I would have to read really nasty stories (sometimes with explicit parts which I'd skip because I really hate that stuff), and then I found HPFF and I was just like "the fan fiction gods are watching out for me." So finally I really started reading Scorbus fics all the time, and eventually started posting my own. And now I'm a Scorbus freak, my friends have threatened to duct tape my mouth numerous times... Just kidding ;) I'm so incredibly happy to have found this community of awesome people.

I stumbled into a Scorbus story during review battles and I just haven't stopped. Because most of my reading lately has only been review tags and battles, I've only really read what Rose has written so far, but I hope to come across many more!

While I adore the idea of Scorose, and the ship name sounds FABULOUS, Scorbus is amazing and they are so adorable. Scorbus seems to me like Dramione or Drarry- people on opposite sides of the spectrum coming together in love. It's a weird Romeo and Juliet, especially for Scorbus as their dads hated each other. I could honestly see Scorpius with any of Harry's children, really, for the same reason, but as I have not read him with James or Lily yet, I will stick with Scorbus. ^_^

Okay, so this is now a ship that I really, really love.

I started off reading Scorpius/Rose, mostly because I'd been reading James II/OC stories and Scorose appeared in a lot of them.  And while I do still enjoy reading Scorose, and in my head canon (at least for my novel, Jigsaw), Albus is asexual, I think that Albus/Scorpius is slowly becoming my OTP.

In my head canon, Albus and Scorpius have always been friends - not because they want to defy their parents or anything, but more because they just have a lot of shared interests and are drawn together.  I've actually always pictured them both in Ravenclaw, away from the prejudices of their families/the houses they were expected to go into, and becoming friends there.  Then I imagine their friendship evolves slowly (with both of them trying to deny the fact that it's changing for quite a while) until they admit their feelings and start a relationship.

I just think these two would be so cute together, as a relationship that's come from a friendship.  I don't know why (maybe because it's not the sort of thing that really appeals to me when I'm reading?), but I've never imagined that either of their parents would have much of a problem.  I think if they were friends first, then they'd all have had time to get used to the idea of them being around each other, and then they'd be able to see what each means to the other and not cause problems about it.

Anyway, I basically love Scorbus and they are becoming one of my OTPs, I think <3

I've never really shipped this - I'm never been a fan of either this or Scorose, preferring to get my shipping needs met in less well-populated pastures. I've always pictured Albus as this really intense Slytherin who's intensely focused on his ambitions and doesn't socialise much outside his House and his family. Now, this wouldn't preclude a friendship or relationship with Scorpius if he was a Slytherin too, but I've actually always pictured him in, well... Hufflepuff. And the Albus and Scorpius of my headcanon would be mostly flabbergasted by each other, hehe.

Spoilers for Cursed Child:

But now, after reading Cursed Child, I do ship it! : D I mean, is it possible to read or watch that play without coming away shipping these two? I doubt it, haha! I actually think it's kind of a travest that the writers didn't even just leave the nature of their attachment open, but had to add that frankly awfully odd crush of Scorpius' on Rose. Albus puppy crush at least plays some sort of narrative role (though I would have been just as happy without it) but Scorpius crush on a girl who openly dislikes him persisiting for several years is basically just a very awkward 'no homo'. So, yeah...

Okay, so I'll admit it- I really used to be a Scorose shipper. This was also back in the day when I would only ship characters with one person, and couldn't imagine them with anyone else (OC's sometimes permitted) so this didn't really open the option for me. I think I have to thank Lisa for opening my eyes to this ship though- reading TFWMS is what started my interest in Scorbus and it just went from there. Now I love them! I do still ship Scorose, though not as much as Scorbus and I kind of have 2 different Next-gen universes in my mind, so it works.

Scorbus would work so well though! I imagine them both in Slytherin, and becoming friends from that. I feel like both Scorpius and Albus would try to act all tough and "I've heard stories about you dad from mine" at first, but as first year went on, they realized they had a lot of stuff in common and started to become friends. And they grow up together, figure out their sexualities together, learn about the world and prejudice and all of that together, and eventually fall for each other in the "my feelings haven't even changed, they've always been this, I'm just realizing what it means" kind of way. I think Scorpius and Albus are soulmates honestly! They're lovely together, and I love the different adversity they have to overcome in the fics I read- Harry and Draco accepting them being friend/boyfriends, Draco (usually) accepting Scorpius is gay, figuring out sexuality in the wizarding world and how it differs from the muggle world, etc. I love Scorpius and Albus so much because they just fit.

Cursed Child spoilers

And even though they tried to push Scorpius off with Rose at the end of CC, I firmly believe that Scorbus is real. I mean c'mon, I know people who are devout Scorose shippers and even they were talking about how CC made them start shipping Scorbus a bit (and how they were confused and upset about the out-of-nowhere Rose plot!) The way Scorpius and Al were written in Cursed Child was beautiful, and just feeds my soulmates theory so much. They're perfect for each other!

To sum up: Scorbus is one of my favorite ships, and I love these two so much.

honestly this is my next gen otp *u* i haven't read cursed child yet because i'm kind of scared to hear the ""official"" interpretations of them -- even though i'm so happy to hear they're friends in it :OO i have always pictured scorpius as sweet and awkward hufflepuff, and albus as a quiet & kind but cunning slytherin (although i also like the idea of both of them in hufflepuff together?).  i like the idea that they're nothing like their dads -- i've heard people criticise scorbus saying that it's just a clone of drarry, but i actually think it's incredibly interesting to see them characterised as very different from their fathers with a very different dynamic between them, and the ways they overcome their family histories. i imagine that by the time they get together, especially is scorpius has been friends with al & the other potter/weasley kids for a few years, they wouldn't actually meet much resistance from their parents though, other than a few long-suffering kind of 'why did it have to be POTTER'S kid' sighs or something like that ;P

So I finally read Cursed Child...

...and am obviously now an Albus/Scorpius shipper because... duh! They were so adorable!

*distinctly ignores the ScoRose ship they tried to press*

Seriously. The sexual tension between Albus and Scorpius was beyond ridiculous. Are you kidding me. How did they not end up together?!? I will never understand this oversight.

Like. The recurring hug thing? *dies* Or Albus being Scorpius' happy thought in the Voldemort Wins Dimension? *melts* Or really any moment ever - let's be honest. They were so cute together the whole way through.

Albus wasn't great individually, to be fair, in this version, so ideally in fanfiction I'd envision him kinder, less uptight, less resistant towards his father, and far less angsty... but Scorpius was perfection, and the two did have a really lovely balance. The only thing I'd change about Scorpius would be to put him in Hufflepuff. I swear I'm not being biased (as a Puff myself), but everything Scorpius did in Cursed Child was just so... Hufflepuff! And I'd have brought Albus over to Hufflepuff too, with a new personality... hahaha

Anyway, this newfound love of Scorbus has started me off looking for fanfics that have a Scorpius similar to his Cursed Child's version, but with a less angst-ridden Albus, and where the two end up together. Their friendship was just so sweet and had so much room for a step further, and... well, honestly, I haven't been a shipper of them for long enough now to really add any original takes on them (outside of the Hufflepuff thing), but maybe I'll see if my desire for same-Scorp-different-Albus-both-in-Hufflepuff stories inspires me to write something of my own instead... It's been forever since I've written even a word, so I'll take anything I can get! ^.^
