Bullet Journals

oh my gosh! Bullet journaling! I've started this from last year and boy did it help me tremendously. I am working on my third bullet journal. You all's spreads are awesome! I've also seen awe-inspiring examples from others on other social media platforms. They do wonders for creativity and expression of art. :) I will upload my spreads soon once I'm done. :D

Totally took some inspo from @abhorsen. for a spread for this month ❤️ I've already posted my calendar here, but here's my setups for the week & also a general thing for June:

I am obviously still v. bad at drawing straight lines even with a straightedge (lol, peep that first page, YIKES) but I really liked the color scheme I chose for June and I think it'll be fun to see what I doodle throughout the month! Who knows, it might end up just being fic ideas instead! :P

I'm still not quite on bullet journal level, but I did finally finish my lunar calendar for June, which hasn't been done in about 3 months so I think it's a decent stepping stone to share 😅. (At least I'm consistent with my hot mess. It's predictable.)

Yikes, okay, sneaking back with a few more. Getting closer to that bullet journal vibe (you would've thought, you know, I might be picked one up over the past year but...)

A couple things this month. First, I had a bullet journal in my hand, had issues about giving up the graphing paper and put the bullet journal back on the shelf. Baby steps. Second, I put my third grad doodling skills to the test (they haven't changed a bit, but it was fun and cathartic to just doodle ;) ).

I added my mood chart, nightmare tracker, water tracker, & coffee tracker to July's Lunar Calendar, so that's a busy one. Then I made my tasks, other habit tracker, and a bucket list. Slowly starting to look more like bullet journaling...but sans bullets and more graph lines <.<.

Anyway, my bulletin board looks lively and so there's that.

It’s July which means new spread time! (How the hell is it already July???)

I also used some highlighters for the colors here and liked how they turned out!

Okay so I have a BJ and while I am not artistic enough to make it all pretty and fancy - I've also been terrible at keeping up with it and make spreads and deciding what I want in and what I do not, as I also don't want to make it something I can really get down over if I haven't done stuff in a long time.

Do any of you have tips on how to keep on top of it but also make it that way that it's more encouraging to myself? Like what I used to do (in the odd days that I did use it) was like keep track of things I needed to do/wanted to do (including cleaning and whatnot, just basic stuff but also more of a reminder to myself that i had to do it and not postpone it like mad), like on that day I did this and this and on that this and that etc. But idk, it's been hard to remain on top of it.

I've been meaning to reply to this that you can 100% use a graph paper journal. Moleskin definitely makes them and you can probably even find one at Barnes and Noble. :)

Also @TidalDragon

I don't know if this is helpful or not, but I think a good way to get a sense for how a BJ will work for you is to keep a casual notebook for a few weeks and see what things you want to write down when you're not being "official" about it. For example, in college I used to make these really detailed hourly schedules for my day about when I'd do every little thing, right down to brushing my teeth. That helped me understand why a BJ might be useful for me.

Another thing is to keep it simple at first and just try to at least look at it everyday, maybe over breakfast or before bed. That can help build a habit and then you'll find it more natural, if that makes sense. :)

@down-in-flames I am such a fangirl for your journal. Like, could those spreads be cuter? No, no they could not!

I finished up some stuff for October today

The mood tracker here was copied from someone on instagram. Thievery is the sincerest form of flattery? :P

took the topical checklists idea from Taylor. Thanks, Taylor! :)
