Hi again! :)

Poor Hermione... of course she would try to convince herself that it's all been just a nightmare... and of course her first instinct would be to attack Draco and steal his wand. Oh, my! Draco kissing her to stop her from fighting! Backfiring, too, but... what was that, Draco? Don't tell me you're feeling attraction already? Well, no, probably not, but still... :eyes:

And I do feel bad for Draco a little as well... after everything he's done to keep Hermione safe and healthy, this is not a very nice thanksgiving... on the other hand, he could really try to be a bit more sympathetic and a bit less his pureblood, arrogant self... like, showing Ron a bit of respect, for instance. Or not calling Hermione mudblood... she might be a bit more well disposed, if he was a little nicer, right?

But I love how fragile Hermione is in this moment, and how Draco is caught off guard by that. That moment when Hermione says that she wants to go home... again, so soft!

And I can't believe Draco opened up about something so personal like his boggart, and what happened to his mother! (I also can't believe that Lucius killed Narcissa, but that's beside the point...) Sure, he just did out of exhasperation, but still... :O

And, wait... Hermione escaped??? I hope she doesn't get herself into some trouble... :/

That was a curious punishment for Lucius... duelling Severus... but I guess Voldemort was well aware of how much Severus feels resentment towards him, and that Severus is by far the better wizard, so that worked nicely as a punishment, for sure. And I would say poor Lucius as well, but he sort of deserves it?

Nice job so far! :D And I'll need to be back again soon because I'm very curious to see what happens next. Maybe send me a reminder sometime? ;)

Big snowball hug,

Chiara

Hello, Juls! :D

So, I've been meaning to come back to this story at some point, and the Halloween event seemed like a good occasion to (here to woo a Mummy :D)

So, that's what happened... oh, Ron... why did you have to follow them? Why did you have to lose control like that when they mentioned Ginny? But that's how Gryffindors are, right? Act first, think later... Goyle going straight to the Killing Curse is awful, but sadly believable... and poor Hermione, how awful it must've been for her to witness it, and then being subjected to whatever Crabbe and Goyle did to her later... :/

Poor Draco, too! He must feel so panicked and helpless right now... the way he took care of Hermione, wetting her forehead, so tenderly... and how bittersweet that it brought back memories of his mother taking care of him as a little child... such a soft moment! <3

I think you described Molly and Arthur's grief very well. Their reactions were very believable and very fitting of their characters! It's so heartbreaking to see... and I feel bad for Severus for having to explain all this... I suppose he couldn't have done anything different, but I can also understand how for a parent that wouldn't be enough... :(

Typical Harry, getting angry about Snape entrusting Hermione to Draco... but if Draco's role as an Order spy was a secret, that's totally understandable (I mean, that was a surprise for me, too! :P It's been a while since I read the first chapter, so I can't remember if you told us before... anyway, I'm glad to know what Draco's role is here! :D)

I'm always a bit surprised by how your universe works, but I do enjoy it! I always like a good AU and I find yours very refreshing! ;)

Guess I'll move on to the next chapter now. See you in a minute! :D

Snowball hug,

Chiara

Hi, I'm here for a galazy review!

Gosh, this is an action-packed chapter from start to finish! Things are really progressing well between Draco and Hermione; it's difficult to believe that they were ever enemies. There's such trust and mutual understanding which flows between them and it's clear they are VERY into each other by this point!

Harry and Ginny are expressing their love for each other in a different way, though. Harry, desperate not to make Ginny a target or wanting her not to be in love with him so if he doesn't make it, she's not left heartbroken. Ginny wanting to make the most of whatever time they have together. And in the end, Harry writes to Arthur and I'm all :eyes: - is he going to ask for Ginny's hand in marriage??

Then the fight scene. Oh my. Snape was lucky to escape that without giving the game away too much but poor Tonks - Remus will go MAD when he finds out what has happened :( At least they managed to capture three Death Eaters - that was something.

Great job with this story so far! It's been a very exciting read <3

Hi, I'm back for another galazy review :)

Yeah, I'm not sure that Draco and Harry will be best friends any time soon. A few Defence classes may get rid of some of the pent-up energy and emotion, though. Whether it will be enough to bring them together, I will wait and see. Love the description of them both as 'erumpents' HA!

That's clever that there's a Grimmauld Room of Requirement - it saves the risk of having to go to Hogwarts to use the one there. LOL at Snape's comment about house points not applying here when the kids are late for their lesson. And yeah, that wasn't such a nice comment for him to make about teh Weasley family but as he points out, he's not nice. LOL.

Uh-oh. Maybe finding Hermione curled up in Draco's arms wasn't a/ the best way to find out about his enemy and his best friend and b/ is unlikely to do anything for their friendship status, haha! And wiith Defence coming up, there's bound to be a lot of anger on Harry's part and some lashing out. And wow, Ginny's angr too. I mean it's understandable; Ron's barely cold in his grave and here is Hermione, in the arms of the hated Draco. Nice use of the bat-bogey hex!!

Yikes! I knew it would get rough between them. But Snape's right - they are not each other's enemy, they are allies. And if they team up against the enemy, they could be very formidable indeed.

Thanks for another great chapter!

Hi I'm back for another galazy review :)

The details in this story are brilliant - I love the additional information such as the history of Wolfsbane potion. Haha, that's so funny that Snape complimented Harry and it gave him such a shock that he messed up his potion! I thought Snape kept his cool very well there when Harry over-added the bile because it's a waste of ingredients when students get potions wrong and I can see how irritating that would be for a potons master. Especially for ingredients which are rare or difficult to source...

But ow, that wasn't particularly nice of Snape to let Harry fall to the floor after hitting him with a Petrificus Totalus spell. Maybe he still dislikes him after all. Will Harry and Draco ever settle their differences, I wonder? What could possibly make them change their minds and see each other in a different light?

Love the moment between Draco and Hermione as they agree to move forward <3 and LOL at Ginny wondering where Hermione is LMAO!

Another great chapter! Looking forward to the next :)

Hi! Back with a galazy review :)

Ha - Draco having to make his own breakfast because there aren't any house elves. And yes, I totally agree that cookies are oatmeal and could therefore fall under the breakfast category.

Oh I hadn't realised that Kreacher was dead :( He wasn't really nasty; wizards had turned him that way. But this is sweet of Hermione to make eggs on toast for Draco. And of course, the smell of breakfast attracts a few other people too. I hope poor Hermione doesn't end up having to cook for them all, or there are plenty of eggs available if she does...

Wow - so Narcissa was part of the Order too? OMG, how did she hide that from Lucius and also keep her affair with Snape a secret too?

That's so cute that Draco has his own house elf. And that Dobby knows him and can be convinced of Draco's true intentions in this war.

It must be hard for Harry having the knowledge that Draco and Snape killed Dumbledore and yet Remus trying to convince him that they were under orders to do it and it was necessary. I suspect there will be more fights to come between Draco and Harry...

Looking forward to the next chapter!

Hey! Back for a galazy review :)

So you have no idea how relieved I am that a/ Hermione took the news of the deception pretty well, all things considering, and b/ her parents are actually alive and she doesn't have to continue grieving for them on top of still grieving for Ron.

Ooh yes, that's a lot of teenage hormonal mess to be occupying Snape's dungeon with the extra tutoring that's just been offered, especially given that he doesn't really seem to like kids all that much. That said, he has been particularly courteous to these ones away from Hogwarts. Perhaps when they all return to school, there'll be less animosity? Or will Snape keep up the guise that really, he hates Potter et al, just so nothing unusual feeds back to the Dark Lord?

I feel very sad that Snape killed two innocent rabbits to fake the Granger deaths, though :'((

Hey, I'm back for another galazy review.

I suppose Snape had to warn Draco that he'd be trying to kill him in public in order to - in a very roundabout sort of way - save both himself and Draco from the Dark Lord's displeasure. But wait - what's this about a deception?? Does this mean that Hermione's parents aren't dead after all and tne whole thing is a ruse or part of a greater plan?? This is INSANE and there's gonna be a showdown somewhere along the line - I CAN'T WAIT, haha!! I mean, it could backfire horribly if Hermione doesn't grasp WHY it had to be done this way...

Whoa - Narcissa and Snape?? I had not expected that. I presumed it was Lily who Snape had been holding a candle for. Well wow.

Aww, and things are beginning to develop between Draco and Hermione. That was such a sweet moment there when she told him that her name wasn't pronounced 'Granger' but 'Her-my-oh-knee' <3

Hey! Back for a galazy review!

Poor Hermione is really getting put through the ringer here and I feel so bad for what she's going through, whilst facing the ruin of her childhood home. I can't imagine the pain she must be feeling, or would she have lapsed into numbness by now at the sheer volume of death and despair she's been plunged into? And then...Crabbe?? OMG, it was a trap??

Is now a good time for Draco to reveal his true allegiance? :eyes: Things could get very messy around here; yikes! And wow, Draco crucio-ing his own father? And Snape has been tasked with killing Draco as a consequence? And tensions between Harry and Draco are at an all-time high!! Can things get any more fraught?? OMG, I don't think I can bear to think of all the repercussions and potential havoc here...

What an action-packed chapter! And I am so here for it!

Hey, I'm back for a galazy review!

Ron's funeral :( It's hard to imagine Fred and George not having a joke to cast between them. I guess nobody has anything amusing to say on such a sad day for the whole family and all of Ron's friends. I don't think Ginny has anything to worry about with regards to Cho because Harry is there supporting her and not his ex-girlfriend. If Cho could ever be classed as Harry's girlfriend because they only ever went on one (terrible) date to Madam Puddifoot's together...

Oh, Hermione's speech :((( And the otter patronus. And all this whilst she's also potentially processing the deaths of her parents too. Those were heartfelt words that she spoke. It must have been so difficult for her to do that but her words were beautiful. The lyrics really add to the poignancy of this moment.

OMG - is Draco actually apologising?? Yeah, he must really miss his mother too. Something that Hermione and he can empathise with each other about. Will it bring them closer together?

Did Snape really kill Hermione's parents or is something being covered up here??

Hi, I'm back for a galazy review!

Ugh, I'd forgotten in all the excitement about Ron's death and how it would be affecting Hermione and all his friends and family. And that there'd be a funeral to attend. Of course Hermiojne would need to see his body as macabre as that sounds; she'd want to know that he had truly gone and that this wasn't some elaborate charade.

And she's not even allowed to spend time with Ron's body as the news breaks over the wireless that there's been an attack on Hermione's home street. How much more will this poor girl have to take? That's an awful way to find out that something dreadful may have happened to her parents - did nobody think to withhold that information until Hermione had been informed by the Aurors? Or is this a clever attempt on Voldemort's part to draw Hermione out of hiding?? What would he want with Hermione and not Harry I wonder??

:EYES: on the next chapter!!

Hey! Back for a galazy review :)

Oh, so Snape knows exactly where they are! Except...Draco's been careless and Hermione's in hiding - yeah, not surprised Snape's a bit annoyed with his protege right now. Draco had one job and he's fluffed it. I must have missed the part about Lucius killing Narcissa, WTF?? And now I feel sorry for Draco having to a/ live with his father knowing that he's the reason he hasn't got a mother any more and b/ the pain of losing his mother like that. No wonder the guy's a bit messed up :/

Probably a good idea to send Remus to collect Hermione and Draco. Hermionee will trust Remus far more than she'd trust Snape. At least they are now safe and back with the Order.

But wait...what?? Is Snape putting on a brilliant act for Voldemort or is he actually on the Death Eater side? And how does Harold Granger come into all this? WHO is Harold Granger - is he Hermione's father? And who just got hit by a killing curse?

OMG I'm on the edge of my seat here!! YIKES

Hey, I'm here for another galazy review!!

Okay. I have to revise my previous thoughts of Draco being a complete arse, because if he genuinely is working for the Order, then he's probably not. But that doesn't excuse the name-calling and taunting and downright BLUNT way that he delivered the news of Ron's death. However, it's clear he doesn't want Hermione to die too, so there is that. Even if it is only to save his own sorry backside. Everyone must be so worried. Doesn't Snape know where they are?

Ooh, bit of tension between Draco and Hermione. Quite understandably, she's angry, as she has every right to be. And reaching for his wand to defend herself was instinctive (and probably the only thing she could do in this situation). Draco SO deserved that kick to his nuts when he tried to distract-kiss Hermione to get his wand back, HAHA! And His patronus is his father? Makes sense. I wonder what Hermione's is? Apart from being none of Draco's business...

Things are definitely getting exciting here :eyes:

Hi! I'm back for a galazy review :)

Ah, Hermione :'((( This is just a horrible situation to be in. She's ripped apart from the news of Ron, and stuck in the company of Draco Malfoy who is being an absolute cruel arse, and she's too weak to do anything about it. I can't imagine how it would be to not even be able to grieve properly for a lost friend, or be able to talk about him. And she's running over that last memory of him in her mind AND she turned down the opportunity for a kiss. Goddd this is heart-breaking :(((

Okay, so Draco is not a complete arse if he notices that Hermione is burning up, but he's still not going to get her any proper help. So he's still almost a complete arse. And if he lets Hermione die on his watch he'll forever be a complete arse. Is he holding her here for a reason? Of course, I bet he can't Apparate yet, can he?

OMG Ron really IS dead :((

HANG ON - Draco is an Order spy?? :eyes: I wasn't expecting that!! I bet his father doesn't know. OMG, this is getting wild!!

Onto the next chapter :)

Hey, I'm here for a galazy review!

Wow. What an opening chapter! Yeah, what WAS Luciius thinking, letting the young Death Eaters-in-training take on Snape's project? And is Ron Weasley actually dead?  'Seemingly lifeless' might not be so. Perhaps in the heat of the moment, nobody checked properly for a pulse... But...Ron's death is going to devastate his family and friends. When/if Hermione wakes up and finds out, will she seek revenge on his killer?

Draco, that's a harsh, vile way of delivering the news of someone's demise. And ugh - calling Hermione a mudblood so frequently. I wonder where they have ended up and how this is going to turn around from enemies to lovers but I'm here for the wild ride LOL!! Excited to see how this story will unfold.

Great start!

A fight both boys needed to have, but I did smile because Draco won that one.

You know how to perfectly place Draco and Hermione together in the best of ways though. There's so much tension that I'm about to burst though.

And so I finally reach the end of what you have posted! This is such a great chapter! I knew things were going to hit the fan, so I'm not particularly surprised, but I'm still like...disappointed? in Harry? I'll delve into that later.

First, I think I might have mentioned it in a previous review, but I'm really surprised that the Order is encouraging the students to learn Unforgivable Curses. They're at war, I know, but it still seems really strange to think that they would be fine with the Cruciatus. I know in canon that Harry uses all three Unforgivables, but even that surprised me!

The confrontation when Ginny and Harry find Hermione and Draco asleep was so intense! I knew that Harry would be livid, but I hadn't expected Ginny to also be so angry. It makes sense though. Then when they get to DADA, I was less than surprised that Harry and Draco got into another physical fight. I rolled my eyes a bit that Draco was offended over Harry calling him a ferret when he literally also accuses him of using the Imperius Curse and working for Voldemort, but...teenagers, I guess.

I'm glad that Hermione has made it clear that she cares about Draco and will stand by him. I hope that influences Harry and Ginny to accept him more.

Good job with everything you have posted so far! I'm glad I finally had the chance to read and review!

Best,
Emily

Omfg when Draco headbutted Harry!! xD xD xD  I honestly laughed out loud. I wasn't expecting it at all, despite knowing they would probably get in another fight sooner rather than later. But it was just such a bold move, haha.

I really can't stand Snape (as I've mentioned before), but you're making me want to give him a chance in this story. Or, at least, I want Harry to give him a chance. Lupin and Dumbledore are right—hating Draco and Snape is doing him no good.

I really, really loved the scene between Draco and Hermione. I love that he said he doesn't want to be alone anymore. The chemistry between them is obvious and their cuddling was so sweet. I also love when Draco said, "Just let me hold you for a moment." Precious. And the repeated "forward" from both of them. oadithlagkdj. LOVED IT.

I'm very apprehensive that Harry will keep his promise about trusting Draco once he figures out that he and Hermione are a couple. That's...yikes. We'll have to see how it goes!

Reading on soon!

This was a very house elf-heavy chapter, which was super tough for me because I am Not A Fan of house elves. xD  I mean, I get that Dobby saved them multiple times in canon, but I just find him so annoying. Forgive me!

We have some cute Draco moments in this chapter though! I love that he can't cook so he starts eating cookies for breakfast, haha. Poor rich boy. And then I love how he's so close with Twinky. Though, I did immediately wonder if Draco had actually asked Harry if he could move into his house. I know it's also functioning as Headquarters right now, but...Draco has literally no where else to go; and I doubt Harry would be thrilled about Draco living in a house he owns.

I like how you've woven Snape's backstory with Narcissa into this story. I like that she had a nickname for him (and he is Snarky, so that's perfect!). I really like Narcissa as a character, so I'm fond of how she's affecting things in this story, despite being dead.

Finally, shout-out to the Crookshanks cameo!! I swooned at, "Crookshanks, my darling," because I am a huge cat lady and I adore Crookshanks. Yay kitty baby! :D

Reading on soon! Good job!

Wait wait wait. You killed bunnies?! :O :O :O

On the one hand, I'm glad that Snape's plan worked. Because the Grangers aren't dead. But on the other hand...why couldn't he just cast the spell at the wall or something?? Poor bunnies! And you even noted that one was white and one was chocolate brown! How cruel to give us cute images and then kill them! xD

Although, I also love that Molly was like, "Well, we thought you'd be bummed about the buns." As if the alternative wasn't 1000 times worse. Like...between my parents and a couple of rodents, that's not a hard choice. I'd hope Hermione would feel the same (and I'm sure she does).

I'm interested to see what Hermione and the others will be learning from Snape and Lupin. It makes sense for them to take time away from Hogwarts to learn something more advanced, but I wonder if they'll miss anything important while they're gone. Not everyone is Hermione and gets ridiculously far ahead in school.

Good chapter! I'm glad Draco got to explain things. Hopefully their relationship will be on the mend now.

Well, at least I finally have my answers: the Grangers are alive! Really good job being able to keep me guessing through the last several chapters! I couldn't figure out whether or not to trust Snape, and since I really don't like him as a character, my distrust of him was definitely hard to overcome.

I was surprised that Lupin and Snape were talking about the Horcruxes. They must know much more in this story than they do in canon, though I don't know if that necessarily means they'll be able to help in the hunt for them. (But it sounds like there's only one left? So maybe they can.)

Back to Grimmauld Place and...Draco and Hermione are kissing?? Well, I mean, I want them to kiss, but it did feel a bit abrupt. I wish I'd gotten more of a sense of them growing closer and learning to trust each other. But I do like that they clearly have chemistry. And I love that Draco mispronounced her name since he's never had to say it out loud. xD

I'm so glad Hermione now knows that her parents are alive! Her mourning was so heartbreaking, so being able to see her relieved is really nice. Though I wish she hadn't had to suffer. I get why she's mad at everyone for keeping the truth from her. Hopefully she forgives them soon.

On I read!

Ahh! How could you do this to me?? I now have so many questions. I'm now not sure that the Grangers are alive. I was like...certain in the last chapter, but now I just don't know.

Either way, Hermione going back to her parents' house was not her smartest move. I'm glad that Remus and Draco showed up in time to save her though. And Hermione knows it was a bad choice, but I think grief kind of clouded her judgement there.

The standoff with the Death Eaters was so intense. I'm glad that Draco has finally had a chance to confront Lucius. I'm sure that will happen again before everything is resolved. I was a bit confused that Tonks was more offended by Bellatrix "[calling her] by that name" (Nymphadora) than by her literally threatening to kill Ted and Andromeda like...one sentence later. Like...Tonks, girl. Focus. And also during that fight...Draco used the Cruciatus Curse twice (well, tried to once and succeeded the second time). Like...whoa. That's one of the Unforgivables. You'd think Remus would be more strict about not using it.

Finally, the fight between Harry and Draco was definitely a long time coming! On the one hand, I'm annoyed that Harry doesn't believe that Draco's changed sides. But on the other, his skepticism makes sense. Them duking it out was inevitable, I think. And hopefully that will clear the air between them so things can be less tense moving forward.

Good job! I'll read on soon!

P.S. - One note for editing if you ever go through this chapter again: a couple of times here, you refer to the stunning spell as Impedimenta, but that's actually the slowing spell. The stunner is Stupefy. *thumbs up*

Wonderful job working the song throughout this chapter. It was a really heartbreaking addition to Ron's funeral.

And the funeral itself was beautiful. There was one strange moment at the beginning of it when Ginny was annoyed at Cho being there, but then things settled into the somberness of the day. Hermione's eulogy was incredible. It was such a badass moment, and I was cheering her on the whole time! The honored Ron and called the Ministry out at the same time like the icon that she is. She later says seeing Umbridge is what made her say so much, and I totally see how that would spur her to action. Because, like...wtf. Why on earth was Umbridge there? Why was she allowed to show up at all? How awful.

I like that Hermione has started to see that there's more to Draco than she'd previously thought. I hope he's going to thaw towards her too and be more honest about who he is.

I think the ending of this chapter is when Harry and Ginny find out that Hermione's parents are alive and hiding at the Burrow. We'll see soon! Reading on in just a bit...

I was wondering when Hermione would get to see Ron and start to cope with losing him. Grief is so tough, and it's so sad that she's having to face this. And then right as she's standing with Ron's body, she finds out that her parents have been "killed." (I still think Snape found a way to save them and hide them. But...I guess we'll find out eventually!) The radio broadcast about her parents' murders was so incredibly weird. What an awful way for someone to find out that information! And then they also somehow knew Snape was to blame. I wonder where the WWN gets its information...

The Death Eater party was so disorienting. Seeing them celebrate the murder of two Muggles feels so strange. But I think to them it's almost like they're kicking off the start of their war. Even though I would have thought the "official start" of their rise back to power would have been Dumbledore's murder. Ah, well. I guess some people don't need much reason to celebrate. D:

I think Snape told Draco the truth about Hermione's parents, and I predict that it will be hard to keep the secret of their survival from her as they get closer. I also think she'll start to suspect he knows something he's hiding.

But we'll see as I read on. :D

Okay, I guess Hermione did just walk off...but she didn't go very far. Which I'm surprised about, especially since Draco tells Snape she's been gone an hour. Like, I'd have run as far away as possible. I know she "feels bad for him" or whatever, but...girl, don't. I mean, I know his mom is dead, but he hasn't really proven that he deserves even the time of day from you.

Well, I guess it's not like she actually likes him though. xD  Or, at least, she doesn't seem to. Because he clocks him right in the face, hahaha. Man, I know I'm being so mean to Draco in this story so far, but he kiiiiind of deserves it. Or, he hasn't done anything to redeem himself. He's still calling her a Mudblood and being a general ass about most things. Though I did laugh that she punched him and then immediately thanks him for returning her wand. Poor Draco. I promise I'll be nicer to him in future chapters. Probably. :)

So, I think we can assume that Snape called Tonks, Kingsley, Molly, and Arthur to Grimmauld Place to warn them of the coming plot to kill the Grangers. But why those people, I wonder. And why did Remus send his owl rather than trying to contact them by Floo, which would likely be much faster? Hmm. I think the first part will probably be explained. The second part is likely just me overthinking things, haha.
