Hi Lo!  Here to drop off some vroom vroom broom racing!

First of all, who gave you the right to give me all these feelings?!?  I'm not familiar with I Hope, but based on the lyrics, I think you really captured the mood in this songfic.  Well done!

I really liked the way you wrote this - you start off with a suspicion, but then you switch back to Ron lying and giving false hope.  I was definitely hoping that there was just some simply misunderstanding going on, but unfortunately, of course, that didn't end up being the case.  The way you depicted Hermione's despair was really poignant to me - it was concise, but it was heartbreaking all the same.  I liked how you contrasted it with how happy Harry seemed to be with the 4 of them all togther like that.

I really enjoyed (ok, not enjoyed but you know what I mean) this!

Stay safe,

Raspberry <3

Hi Lo! I’m here for swapping :D

“Hermione’s heart breaks in her chest, sending shards to rip through her lungs as well.” This is one of the most vividly gruesome descriptions of a heartbreak I’ve ever read. Kudos to you!

I’m really impressed with the way that you handled the structure of this story. The scenes are not in chronological order, but they make sense as a whole, and the song lyrics tie the piece together nicely.

Maybe it’s because I’m a sap, but the way you structured this also allowed me to hope for far longer than I probably should have that somehow things will be alright. Like, when Ron was telling Hermione his reasons for taking Kendra out to dinner—I almost believed him. I wanted to believe him. By the time we got to the end of the story and Hermione was headed home with her positive pregnancy test though, I pretty much knew it was over—but I still wanted to hope. It was like watching a train wreck (in the best way).

And poor Hermione!! Her carefully planned life—and the way she’s rolling with the surprise of the pregnancy—but she’ll be okay if she still has Ron. Little does she know that she’s going to have to change even more of those life plans.

We don’t get a lot of Ron’s thoughts in this story, since it’s from Hermione’s POV, but we know from his behavior in the books that he will avoid confrontation when it comes to girls, and he also sort of goes with the flow and lets the girls take the lead. I can see that if Kendra wanted to hook up with him, he might let her wear him down and give in. And then I can also see that he might not tell Hermione. It’s not my personal head-canon for Ron, but I think you could definitely build a case that he would act this way under the right circumstances.

Great work on this!

Yours,

Noelle
